NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Former Roland Rangers pitcher Carson Wiggins saw action in this past weekend’s road Southeastern Conference series against the host Vanderbilt Commodores.
Wiggins pitched an inning in Saturday’s game, getting a strikeout. The Hogs (25-3 overall, 7-1 in SEC play) won the game 6-4 in 10 innings.
For the season, Wiggins is 1-0 with a 3.38 earned-run average and three saves. In eight innings pitched, he has struck out 11 batters.
The Razorbacks swept the Commodores for the first time in Nashville since 1994 as the Hogs took Friday night’s game 9-0 and Sunday’s finale 7-3.
After playing Tuesday night against Grambling at North Little Rock, Ark., the Razorbacks will return to SEC play with a home series this weekend against Missouri at Baum-Walker Stadium. Games will be played at 7 p.m. Friday, 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday before the Hogs will entertain Arkansas State at 6 p.m. next Tuesday.
