The Muldrow Bulldogs baseball team split its two Spring Break games last week, beating the Central Tigers 8-2 on March 17 but falling 12-6 at Siloam Springs, Ark., on Friday.
In the win over Central, the Bulldogs (3-6) rallied from a 1-0 firstinning deficit with a pair of three-run innings in the third and fourth innings to take the lead for good at 6-1.
For the game, Gabe Miller was 2-for-4 with a run scored, Jonah Claborn was 2-for-4 with a double, a run batted in and a run scored, Jace Prewett was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Brody Israel doubled with an RBI and a run scored for the ’Dogs, who had their March 14 road game at Muskogee canceled due to the windy weather conditions.
Prewett (1-1) got his first win of the season, going the first three innings with two strikeouts. Claborn got his first save of the season, going the final four innings with nine Ks.
In the loss to Siloam Springs, the Panthers rallied from a 4-3 deficit with a two-run third inning, a two-run fifth inning and a five-run sixth inning to take a 12-4 lead after six innings.
In defeat, Miller was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, Prewett was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Jackson Phillips was 2-for-2 with a run scored and Claborn doubled with two runs scored and an RBI for Muldrow.
Claborn (1-2) suffered the loss, although he struck out eight batters in 5.1 innings. Prewett got the final two outs.
