OXFORD, Miss. — Former Roland Rangers pitcher Carson Wiggins got his first collegiate win as he pitched the final two innings with three strikeouts and allowed a run in Sunday afternoon’s Arkansas Razorbacks’ 12-9 victory over the host Mississippi Rebels at Swayze Field.
Wiggins now is 1-0 with three saves, an earned-run average of 3.00 and has eight strikeouts in six innings pitched so far this season for the third-ranked Hogs (18-2 overall, 2-1 in Southeastern Conference play). The Razorbacks began a five-game homestand Tuesday afternoon with two games against Oral Roberts on Tuesday and this afternoon, then will play their SEC home-opening series against South Carolina at Baum-Walker Stadium on Friday night with a 6:30 p.m. Friday game, a 2 p.m. Saturday contest and a 2 p.m. Sunday game.
