OKMULGEE — The 2024-25 basketball seasons came to an end for the Muldrow High School teams this past weekend at the Class 4A Area Tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs lost their only game in the area tournament, losing their consolation quarterfinals 72-27 to the Glenpool Lady Warriors.
The ’Dogs, who were needing just one more win to get them to this week’s Class 4A State Tournament, lost Friday night’s area championship game 61-39 to Crossings Christian, then fell 49-37 to Bethany in the area consolation championship contest.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Bulldogs (19-10) trailed 17-8 after a quarter, 32-14 at the half and 58-18 going into the final period after the Lady Warriors outscored them 26-4 in the third quarter.
In defeat, Kayla Ellingberg led Muldrow with 10 points, followed by Kilah Ellingberg with six points, Jensi Fields with five points and London Hardin, Gracie Prewett and Maysi Fields with two points apiece.
There was no more information reported on the Muldrow boys’ games by press time. The ’Dogs finished the season at 21-8.
