The Brushy Wrestling Club had 20 members qualify for this weekend’s Oklahoma Kids Wrestling Association State Tournament by placing at the OKWA Southeast Regional Tournament, which took place Feb. 15 at Paul Post Field House.
Five members were regional champions — Gipsee Reed (135 pounds, girls age 12-and-younger), Gracie Schneider (105, girls age 12-and-younger), Hayley Bentley (98, girls age 12-and-younger), Layten Cross (110, age 10-and-younger) and Liliana Guerrero (58 pounds, age 9-andyounger).
Cooper Price (80, age 15-and-younger division), Rocklyn Johnson (110, girls age 15-andyounger), Abel Glover (70, age 10-and-younger), Jesse Bentley (130, girls age 9-and-younger) and Kutter Means (75, age 8-and-younger) all were regional runners- up.
Tristan Price (55 pounds, age 10-andyounger division), Rylan Henry (80, age 10-and-younger), McKynlee Cantrell (105, girls age 10-and-younger), Reagan Cupit (girls age 9-and-younger) and Isaac Glover (70, age 8-and-younger) all placed third.
Avis Lamp was fourth at 67 pounds in the girls age 10-and-younger division, while Bryir Jenkins (84 pounds, age 12-and-younger division), Rebel Bentley (126, girls age 15-andyounger), Ruby Johnson (75, girls age 9-andyounger) and Silas Grayson (heavyweight, age 8-and-younger) were fifth.
The OKWA State Tournament took place Friday and Saturday at Oklahoma City’s Jim Norick State Fair Arena.
