Funeral service for Billie (Shorter) Armer, 86, of Short were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at Short Baptist Church in Muldrow. Burial followed at Seabolt Cemetery in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Armer was born on Dec. 29, 1938, in Clinton, to Estalene (Brown) Shorter and Darrell Damien Shorter. She passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, in Fayetteville, Ark.
She was married to L.G. Armer on Aug. 16, 1957, in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 2021.
She worked at GNB Battery and remained a devoted member of Short Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Fink and husband Kent of Hulbert; son, Larry Armer and wife Denise of Short; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Melvena Thurman and Lula Bates, both of Rock Island, Oleta Armer of Roland, Tressie Long of Sallisaw, Lessie Rogers of Van Buren, Ark., and Lola Matthews of Van Buren; brother-in-law, James Armer of Short; and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Megan Workman; sister, Geraldine Brown; and brother, Frank Shorter.
Pallbearers were Kim Armer, Joshua Sockey, Brayden Forslund, Kent Fink, Dustin Alexander and Dallas Taylor.
Friends and family may visit and pay their respects on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 8 p.m.
