CHECOTAH — The Muldrow Bulldogs won the 2025 Checotah Crossroads Classic by defeating the Eufaula Ironheads 56-36 in Saturday night’s title game.
The ’Dogs reached the finals with a 5850 win over the host Checotah Wildcats on Thursday and a 45-38 victory in the championship semifinals over Hilldale on Friday.
The Lady Bulldogs were third after they defeated Eufaula 5130 in the third-place game Saturday afternoon. They opened the tournament with a 48-36 win over the host Lady ’Cats before losing Friday’s championship semifinals 48-35 to Locust Grove.
In the boys’ title game, the Bulldogs (12-4) did not start Teaguen Collins, and the Ironheads hung around for a while early, leading Muldrow 14-5 after a quarter and 25-16 at halftime.
However, when Collins entered the game in the second half, the ’Dogs got some bite back as they outscored the Ironheads 22-3 in the third quarter to take a 38-28 lead into the final period.
Muldrow put four players into double figures, led by Jesse Kilinc’s 14 points, followed by Collins with 13 points and 11 points apiece from D.J. Massey and Parker Sevenstar. DeShawn Willson scored four points, while Tyson Williams added three points.
In the boys’ opening- round game, the Bulldogs led 12-7 after a period, en route to a 29-16 halftime advantage and a 38-29 lead going into the fourth quarter.
The ’Dogs had four players hit for double figures, led by Sevenstar’s 13 points, followed by Kilinc and Willson with 11 points each and Collins with 10 points. D.J. Massey scored five points, while Williams and Jaxson Anstine scored four points apiece.
There was no more information about the boys’ semifinal game with Hilldale reported by press time.
In the girls’ opening- round game, the Lady Bulldogs (9-7) jumped out to a 21-6 lead and were never headed.
For the game, London Hardin scored a game-high 16 points and Maysi Fields added 11 points to lead Muldrow, followed by Jensi Fields with eight points, Kilah Ellingberg and Kayla Ellingberg with five points each, Emma Fields with two points and Chloee Clark with a free throw.
