The Roland Rangers wrestling team split its road duals against the host Gore Pirates and the Heavener Wolves on Jan. 14 at Gore Event Center.
The Rangers got past the Wolves 28-27, but tied the Pirates at 18-all. However, the Pirates were awarded the dual win as they had more pinfall wins than the Rangers (1-1 in duals this season).
In the win over Heavener, Austin Foster and Drew Simpson each won by technical fall, Channing McKinney won by pinfall and Cash Nelson won by forfeit.
In the loss to Gore, Foster, McKinney and Simpson all won by pinfall, while Nelson got a forfeit.
In the junior high action, Roland lost 30-12 to Gore and suffered a 3624 loss to Heavener.
The Rangers are not scheduled to return to action until participating in the 2025 Maverick Conference Tournament, which will take place Jan. 31Feb. 1 in Stilwell.
