Mike Richards reported updates for Swon Road/Mayfield Mountain Road during the recent snowfall. Richards said early Friday morning that the road was snow-packed, extremely slick and hazardous, and the snow was much deeper than it looked. Richards said he has lived at the location for more than 30 years and can only remember the snow being this deep a few other times. By that afternoon, Richards said county road crews had graded and treated the road. “It’s in such better shape,” he said. “But I’m sure there will still be patches of ice and slick spots, so be careful out there.”
