Have you ever wanted to meet royalty, someone who rules from their throne over their kingdom? Well, lets look at the real “King” who has been royalty forever and came to earth to share that royalty with us.“And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:7.
Jesus the King!
This was not a royal setting at all, but He was the King! He left Heaven to bring salvation to man. Praise the Lord! This is the only way man can be saved. It is by recognizing Him as Savior, confessing sin and placing your faith in Him. He then imparts salvation to you. He seals you for eternity. You are His!
He is your personal Savior! Have you met the “King?”
This “King” lived among us. He showed compassion. Many accepted Him. He taught us how to live with one another and to worship God. As we celebrate His birth this Christmas think about who Jesus really is. He is the “Son of God,” the “Eternal One,” the “Light” of the world,” the “Savior,” the “Lamb of God,” and He is the “King” of kings and the “Lord of lords.”
Many refuse to recognize Jesus as Savior. They listen… but they do not hear Him. God revealed to Israel that, “your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation.” “And the Lord shall be King over all the earth” (Zechariah 9:9; 14:9). Israel rejected Him. “Away with Him, crucify Him.”
King Agrippa said: “you almost persuade me to be a Christian” (Acts 26:26). How close this man came to eternal life, but rejected it. How close are you? How many times have you rejected Jesus as your Savior? Judas was with Jesus for three years, heard His messages, saw Him heal, heard Him teach the truth, but refused to accept Christ into his heart. He was more interested in the money bag. Again, how sad, that the “love of money” kept him from eternal life. And let’s not forget the thief on the cross, while even in death he would not humble himself and be saved. Such pride…he missed eternal life and Jesus so near. Are you like these “rejecters?”
But, there were many who recognized and received Him as Savior… The Messiah.” Nathaniel said: “Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” (John 1:49).
“The Shepherds recognized Him, and “made widely known the sayings which was told them concerning this Child.”
Simeon recognized Him as “the Holy Spirit was upon him.” He took the Child Jesus “up in his arms and blessed God and said… “For my eyes have seen Your salvation which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.”
There was Anna in the temple, which recognized Him and “gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all who looked for redemption in Jerusalem.”
Later the wise men came seeking and said: “where is He who has been born King of the Jews: For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him” (Matthew 2:2). “And the child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him”(Luke 2).
Have you met Him?
Maybe you hear the truth but just cant be persuaded. Maybe other things are more important. Is it pride? I urge all who read this to recognize Jesus as King. Re-consider your thinking! Jesus is your only hope! He saves!
Christians, rejoice with the angels! “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men” (Luke 2) “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD!” “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever” (I Timothy 1:17).
“And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation 19:16).
Meet Jesus the “King” today!! Reign with Him forever!
