Memorial service for Johnny Mac Coleman, 84, of Sallisaw, was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Vian, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Coleman was born on June 25, 1940, in Talihina, to Mable Alice (Bell) Coleman and Raymond Clayton Coleman. He died on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, in Fort Smith, Ark.
He married Penny (Lambert) Coleman on May 28, 1960, in Red Oak.
He was a skilled welder, pipe fitter, and welding instructor, and a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed watching sports.
Survivors are his wife, Penny Coleman; two daughters, Vicki Bane and husband Doug of Sallisaw and Lisa Garvin and husband Scot of Muldrow; two sons, John M. Coleman of Portland, Ore., and Tommy Coleman of Sallisaw; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Billie S. Coleman and Patsy Lockhart; and a brother, David A. Coleman.
Honorary pallbearers were Chester Blankenship, Johnny Montgomery, Bill Garner, David Bethel, and Jerry Clapp.
