Sen. Warren Hamilton, R-McCurtain, has been tapped to serve as the Chair of the newly formed Senate Local and County Government Committee.
“It is my firm belief that government, at all levels, must serve the people with integrity and work to safeguard our rights and values,” Hamilton said.
“As measures pass through this committee, I look forward to working alongside the committee members and Oklahoma’s municipal and county officials to ensure all governmental entities in our state are working together to make Oklahoma a stronger and more prosperous state for all.”
Hamilton, who has served as a Haskell County reserve deputy sheriff since 2022, will also serve as the vice chair of the Senate Public Safety Committee, in addition to his service as the vice chair of the Senate Republican Caucus.
“I extend my appreciation to Pro Tem Elect Paxton and my colleagues for placing their trust in me to serve in these roles. I’m eager to begin this legislative session and continue our work to move our state forward while ensuring transparency and accountability,” Hamilton added.
The 2025 legislative session will begin Feb. 3.
