A Sallisaw man is facing a felony charge of lewd molestation in Sequoyah County District Court after he allegedly sexually assaulted a child under the age of 5, in Muldrow, last month.
Jeremy L. Henson, 35, was charged on Nov. 21 and a warrant was issued for his arrest the same day, according to court documents. Henson pled not guilty to his charge and his bond was set at $100,000. He is now scheduled to appear for a Dec. 11 felony disposition docket before Associate District Judge Kyle Waters.
Muldrow Police officer Richard Seabolt reported on Nov. 8 that he spoke to a reporting party who wished to press charges against Henson for the alleged sexual assault of a child under the age of 5.
A forensics interview was set up with the child the following day, where the child alleged that Henson had inappropriately touched them. Seabolt said he and a Department of Human Services (DHS) worker then traveled to a Muldrow residence, where a minor answered the door and stated Henson was in Sallisaw.
Henson found a ride to the residence in Muldrow where Seabolt and the DHS worker then questioned him regarding the allegations.
When Seabolt told Henson about the allegations against him during the interview, Henson said he didn’t want to answer anymore questions without an attorney present. Henson was placed under arrest and transported to the Sequoyah County Detention Center where he was booked in on the charge.
If convicted of the crime, Henson could face imprisonment in the custody of the Department of Corrections for not less than 25 years, according to District Attorney Jack Thorp.
