The Central Lady Tigers, who went 19-6 last season and made it to the Class 2A Regional Tournament, will be an experienced squad this season for seventh-year coach Shane Brown.
The Lady Tigers return three starters from a season ago — junior Cambree Bair (13.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in the 2023-24 campaign), senior Ayrland Jiles (5.5, 4.6) and senior Hadlie Woods (8.3. 1.4).
Key returners back are seniors Haley Cheek and Ryleigh Pierce, junior Cheyenne Busch and sophomore Paris Campbell.
Rounding out the roster are freshmen Alexxus Bolin, Zoey Lattimore, Charlie Petree, Sarah Buchanan, Khloe Buzzard, Alivia Meadows and Kimberlynn Fahrman.
“We look forward to a good year with an experienced group,” Brown said. “We expect continued improvement throughout the season to prepare for a good playoff run.”
Brown said two of his team’s strengths will be its experience and its team defense, and he said that any player can shine on any given night.
“I feel like we have a core group of girls who on any given night can step up and lead us,” Brown said.
The Lady Tigers will begin the new season at 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at Warner.
