EMPORIA, Kan. — Two deflected passes took away a possible seven points from Emporia State and gave Central Missouri State seven in a 45-36 victory for the Mules over the 20th-ranked Hornets last Saturday afternoon at Welch Stadium.
Both teams are now 7-3 overall and 5-3 in MIAA Conference play.
Former Muldrow Bulldog Trenden Collins caught six passes for 56 yards and caught a two-point conversion pass from Oklahoma State University football coach Mike Gundy’s son, Gunnar, after the team’s final touchdown with 3:45 left to play to cut the deficit to 45-36.
The Hornets will conclude the 2024 regular season with a road game against the University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos at 1 p.m. next Saturday at Chad Richison Stadium in Edmond.
