The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced that Devon R. Gillispie, 33, of Sallisaw, has entered a guilty plea on one count of felon in possession of ammunition.
The information alleges that on Jan. 31, 2022, Gillispie, having been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year, and knowing of such conviction, possessed 42 rounds of ammunition which had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Sallisaw Police Department.
The Honorable Jason A. Robertson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea, and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
Gillispie will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending sentencing.
