Funeral services for Peggy Jean Jordan Richards, 91, of Roland, were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Roland.
Burial followed at Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Richards was born on July 20, 1933 in Redland to John and Ruby (Noel) Jordan. She passed away on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, in Fort Smith, Ark.
She was married to Bert Richards on Feb. 25, 1953.
She worked at the Boston Store, Sequoyah County Extension Service, was a bus driver for Gans School, co-owner of the Pie Parlor in Muldrow, and a real estate agent for Century 21. She also served on the Gans School Board for many years.
Survivors are her husband, Bert, of the home; two sons, Mike and Deloris Richards of Roland and Paul and Kim Richards of Sallisaw; four grandchildren, Dave and Sarah Richards of Liberty, Daniel and Kensey Richards of Roland, Stephanie and Dr. Weston Choate of Sallisaw, and Jordan Richards of Sallisaw; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, JC Jordan of Fort Smith; and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jean England and Margie Ryan; two brothers, JR Jordan and JD Jordan; and one daughter-inlaw, Debbie Richards.
Pallbearers were Dave Richards, Daniel Richards, Jordan Richards, Weston Choate, Archer Ryan and Joe Ryan.
Honorary pallbearers were Myron Lockwood, Ken Clark and Ronnie Rogers.
