The 11th-ranked Emporia State University Hornets forced seven turnovers but went just 1-for-5 in the red zone in a 14-9 road loss at Northwest Missouri on Saturday afternoon in Maryville, Mo.
Former Muldrow Bulldog Trenden Collins caught seven passes for 53 yards, while having a carry for minus-8 yards for the Hornets (4-1 overall, 3-1 in MIAA Conference play).
The Hornets got win No. 4 of the season the previous weekend with a come-from-behind 30-27 overtime win over Missouri Western on Sept. 21 at Jones Field at Welch Stadium in Em-poria, Kan.
Collins caught a 25yard touchdown pass from Gunnar Gundy for the game’s first score.
The Hornets will return to action at 2 p.m. Saturday when they entertain Northeastern State University at Jones Field at Welch Stadium.
