Muldrow High School (MHS) students are currently signing up and training to be READ (Reading Encourages All Dreams) mentors for the 2024-25 school year.
High school students participating in this community service program have a strong desire to make a difference in someone’s life and to strengthen the future of our community.
READ pairs a Muldrow elementary child in grades 1-4, with a trained MHS mentor. Each mentor will meet with his/her student one afternoon or evening each week at the Muldrow Public Library.
At these meetings, the mentor will build a friendship with his/ her student, encourage them to have a love for reading, discuss important issues, and have a great time.
There will be a kickoff celebration at 6 p.m. on Sept. 24, in the Muldrow Public Library.
This is the time the mentors meet their elementary student and his/her guardian.
If your child needs more practice in reading, then READ is for you! If you’d like for your child to have a good role model, then READ is for you!
For additional questions, contact Bethia Owens, 427-6703 or Kim Henderson, 4273274.
To enroll your child, call or drop by the Muldrow Public Library before Sept. 20.
