Cause of Gans fatality collision remains under investigation

An evening collision last Saturday in Gans has reportedly claimed the life of a Roland man.

According to a press release issued by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Aden #211, of the Sequoyah County Detachment of Troop C, the collision occurred on E. Cherokee at S. 4680 Road, claiming the life of Gary Phillips, 64.

Aden reported Phillips was driving a 1989 Ford F-350 and was pronounced deceased at the scene due to injuries he sustained in the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Aden was assisted at the scene by Trooper Harriman and the Gans Fire Department.
