It was a rough week last week for the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs softball team as they lost both of their District 4A-6 games, losing a 5-0 road game to Broken Bow on Aug. 27, then fell 4-1 to Stigler at home on Thursday afternoon.
In the loss to Broken Bow, Broken Bow pitcher Maliyah Carney threw a two-hitter as the Lady Savages blanked the Lady Bulldogs (6-6 overall, 0-4 in district play).
A three-run first inning and a two-run second inning gave Broken Bow a 5-0 lead.
Danica Tune and Amaya Duran each singled for Muldrow’s two hits.
Kaydence Young (2–3) suffered the loss, but she did strike out two batters in two innings. Jaydin Dean went the final five innings with a strikeout.
In the loss to Stigler, the Lady Panthers broke a scoreless tie with single runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings for a 3-0 lead, then added a run in the seventh inning for a 4-0 advantage.
The lone run for the Lady Bulldogs came on a two-out, bases-loaded walk to Kesslyn Pratt in the seventh inning, scoring Young.
In defeat, Raya Keenan was 2-for-3 for Muldrow. Dean (4-3) took the loss, despite striking out three batters in seven innings, but she only allowed one earned run as the other three Stigler runs scored due to four Muldrow errors.
