PANAMA — The Muldrow Bulldogs scored three touchdowns in last Thursday night’s final preseason scrimmage against the host Panama Razorbacks at George Ollie Stadium.
All three scores basically covered half of the field each time, all on runs by Teaguen Collins, Jermauree Palmer and DeShawn Willson.
Muldrow football coach Logan Coatney believes his team showed improvement in the Panama scrimmage from the first preseason scrimmage at Gore with Hartshorne on Aug. 23 at Gore’s K.G. Horn Stadium.
“I saw much improvement,” Coatney said. “Do we still have things to work on? Absolutely. We’re nowhere perfect or where we think we can get to, but we went out and executed a lot better than what we did against Gore last week. I just hope our kids build upon that.”
Now, comes the reality of the 2024 season for the ’Dogs as they will open the new season at 7 p.m. this Thursday against the archrival Roland Rangers in the latest installment of “The Battle of 64” at Muldrow’s Marty Rogers Field.
“That’s all that has to be said,” Coatney said. “They’re going to be a good football team and coached up hard. Our kids will be excited as all get out to get out there and get the game started.”
The Rangers did not have a second preseason scrimmage last weekend, so they essentially will be entering “The Battle of 64” as if they are coming off a bye.
