It was a rough District 2A-11 week for the Central Lady Tigers last week as they fell twice to Wilburton — 10-4 on Aug. 27 in Wilburton and 6-1 at home on Thursday afternoon — and once to Pocola by the score of 14-0.
In the loss to Pocola, Pocola’s Allyssa Parker and Kyleigth Combs combined to throw a nohitter. Parker went the first two innings with five strikeouts, while Combs pitched the third and final inning with two Ks.
The Lady Indians broke a scoreless tie with an eight-run second inning.
Ayrland Jiles (1-3) took the loss for the Lady Tigers (3-9 overall, 0-4 in district play), despite fanning three batters in three innings.
In the road loss to Wilburton, Lady Diggers scored once in the first inning and three runs in the second inning for a 4-0 lead. The Lady Tigers cut the deficit to 4-2 in the fourth inning but got no closer. A four-run fourth inning for Wilburton increased its lead to 8-2 after four innings.
In defeat, Jiles was 3-for-4 with a double, while Charlie Petree was 2-for-4 with a double, a run batted in and a run scored for Central.
Brenliegh Allen (2-6) suffered the loss, but she recorded two strikeouts in six innings.
In the home loss to Wilburton, the Lady Diggers completed the season sweep of the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Diggers broke a 1-all tie with a two-run fifth inning and a three-run seventh inning.
In defeat, Jiles was 2-for-2 with a run scored for Central. Jiles suffered the loss, although she recorded eight strikeouts in seven innings.
