Central girls fourth, Roland Lady Rangers sixth at Gore Invitational; Lady Ranger runner makes top five

The Central Lady Tigers cross country team was fourth in last Thursday morning’s Gore Invitational, which took place at the Steve Owens Sports Complex. The Lady Tigers scored 117 points.

The Roland Lady Rangers, running in their first-ever cross country meet in school history, were sixth with 130 points.

For the Lady Tigers, Cambree Bair had the highest finish as she was 20th (8:01.36), followed by Paris Campbell in 22nd place (8:02.41), Scarlett Harrison in 26th place (8:13.92), Xhayla Mosby was 44th (9:04.91), Rileigh Ford was 51st (9:27.59) and Gracie Thompson was 59th (10:28.07).

Molly Carver’s time of 7:25.99 was good for a fourth-place finish to make the top five for the Lady Rangers. Abby Bower was 37th (8:53.78), Cadence Cole was 43rd (9:04.62), Mira Reagan was 52nd (9:32.61), Shyanne Bailey was 64th (11:02.32) and Kaidance Oldham was 68th (11:15.83).

The high school boys race did not have full Roland or Central teams, but individual Rangers and a Tiger ran the course.

Roland’s Landon Killer made the top 10 as he was sixth (11:41.86). As for other Rangers, Josh Bower was 30th (14:16.26) and Hunter Lowe was 81st (18:14.92).

Central’s lone boys runner, Kyle Reed, was 87th (19:05.2).

The Central Lady Tigers won the junior high team title with 21 points, thanks to Sara Williams (7:04.98) and Sadie Huff (7:18.52) coming in 1-2 in the individual standings. Emma Baggs was fifth (7:48.74) to be the third Lady Tiger to crack the top 10. As for other Lady Tigers, Graye Riggs was 11th (8:24.21), Olivia Black was 13th (8:30.28), Shelby Jones was 14th (8:32.61) and Sailor Bauer was 32nd (9:24.89).

The Brushy Lady Mountaineers had four individuals run in the JH girls race. Elizabeth Fleetwood was another local top 10 runner as she was fourth (7:45.37). As for other Lady Mountaineers, Lilly McInerney was 26th (9:01.92), Jaden Fleetwood was 31st (9:22.26) and Tayah Pena was 34th (9:31.86).

Two other local girls placed in the JH girls race. Liberty’s Hayley Bentley made the top 20 as she was 16th (8:34.23), while Roland’s Baylee Serjeant was 29th (9:15.44).

In the junior high boys race, Roland was runner-up (29 points) to team champion Heavener (26 points).

The Rangers had three runners finish in the top 10 and four in the top 20. Tommy Greschke was fourth (6:58.46), Blake Fry was eighth (7:05.05), Dylan Lowe was 10th (7:09.54), Notion Reagan was 11th (7:11.33) and John Jacob was 27th (9:06.95).

Central’s Wyatt Parker was 19th (8:16) in the JH race.

In the elementary school boys race, Central was fourth (96 points) and Brushy was sixth (131).

For Central, Mayson Baker made the top 10 as he was ninth (7:48.02). Daxton Moldrup was 17th (8:06.22), Koleman Edwards was 21st (8:19.01), Kash Poindexter was 25th (8:32.6), Jackson Foster was 37th (9:05.71), Tucker Rogers was 40th (9:14.07) and Blake Moldrup was 41st (9:14.35).

The Mountaineers had one top-20 runner as Carson Limore was 12th (7:54.85). Patrick Fletcher finished 32nd (8:47.74), Jackson Fleetwood finished 33rd (8:47.89), Kainen Asbill finished 38th (9:07.99), Eli Strickland finished 42nd (9:16.27) and Bryson Lamp finished 55th (9:46.92).

The Central and Roland high school cross country teams will return to action in the Carl Albert State College/ Poteau Invitational, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. this Friday in Poteau. Former Muldrow Lady Bulldog Kennady Moore is slated to run for the Vikings in the women’s college race that day.
