CATOOSA — Although she was a lastminute replacement on the East All-State Golf Team, Muldrow’s Claire Tabor made the most of her appearance in the 2024 Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Golf Tournament, which took place July 22 at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.
Tabor was on the winning East team, which beat the West 12.5 points to 11.5. However, overall, the West, thanks to the West All-State Boys Golf Team beating the East 20-4, won the overall tournament 31.5 points to 16.5.
Tabor teamed with Gracie-Jane Lasiter of Eufaula to defeat the West All-State Girls Golf team duo of Christian Heritage Academy’s Raelyn Dodd and Tuttle’s Elaina Streber 3 to 1 to aid the East All-State Girls Team’s victory over the West.
Tabor took the spot that had originally been earned by Summit Christian’s Katey Stemple, but Stemple either could not or declined to play. Tabor got the call last week to be invited to take Stemple’s spot.
Tabor, who represented the Lady Bulldogs for the final time in her prep golf career, was a Class 4A State Golf Tournament qualifier all four years as a varsity golfer. Unfortunately, Tabor’s final state tournament last May was cut short due to illness which prevented her from playing in the final round on Day 2 of the state tournament.
Tabor plans on attending the University of Arkansas to major in business.
