Join the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC), Oklahoma Hunters and Anglers and Buckventures Outdoors for the sixth annual Deer Conference and Expo on Aug. 17 at the Reed Conference Center in Midwest City.
There’s a class for every skill level. Leading experts will be teaching 25 different breakout sessions covering 19 different topics. Vendors will be available to visit between breakout sessions.
There will be a special lunch session featuring speakers Jeff Danker from Buckventures Outdoors, ODWC Interim Director Wade Free and Todd Craighead with ODWC’s Outdoor Oklahoma.
Breakout sessions will give hunters the opportunity to hone their existing skills and learn more about subjects such as videoing your hunt, field to fork, finding a place to hunt, habitat improvement, trail camera use and much more. This year will also feature a ladies only session with News on 6’s Tess Maune and News 9’s Lacie Lowry.
Space is limited so early registration is advised.
••• The 2024-25 Fishing and Hunting Regulations are available now online at www.wildlifedepartment. com and through the Go Outdoors Oklahoma mobile app.
Later this summer, you’ll find printed copies at Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation offices and locations where hunting and fishing licenses are sold.
••• Oklahoma’s youth deer gun season is scheduled for Oct. 1820, and thousands of young hunters will be hitting the woods in hopes of harvesting their first deer.
There are also thousands who would like to go hunting but aren’t able to because they don’t have a place to go or someone to take them.
The Oklahoma Youth Hunting Program (OYHP) has a solution, but help is needed.
Learn how you can help recruit the next generation of hunters through OYHP’s volunteer program.
