People Inc. is hosting a free community endof- summer safety bash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 25 at Sallisaw Creek Park, 501 W. Cherokee. Hot dogs, chips and water will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Children will have the chance to visit and check out units from local fire departments, EMS and law enforcement agencies, and a helicopter from Tahlequah First Flights and an Air EVAC of Fort Smith will be landing, which will be loud, so ear protection is recommended for those with sound sensitivity.
Other activities include an inflatable water slide from the Brushy Fire Department, a Head Start enrollment and information booth, water balloon games, fingerprinting with the Sequoyah County Sheriff ’s Department and more. The Sequoyah County Mobile Health Unit will also be onsite, offering free immunizations, sports physicals and fluoride varnishing. It is important to note that this is a come-andgo event, and all children need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
