Funeral services for Katherine P. Smith, 75, of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw.
Burial was at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith was born on Aug. 17, 1948, in Sallisaw, to Levi Poindexter and Eula (Davis) Poindexter. She died on Friday, July 5, 2024, in Vian.
She was a home health provider and enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth and Rick Blair of Roland; four sons, Larry and Kathleen Smith of Stillwater, Gary and Jennifer Smith of Fort Smith, Ark., Douglas and Kristi Smith of Van Buren, Ark., and Daniel and Angela Smith of Vian; her mother, of Sallisaw; six sisters, Aline Woodard and Lynn Lockhart both of Sallisaw, Beulah Green of Vian, Mary Lou Gibbony of Muldrow, Sherrie Thomas of Rogers, Ark., and Jennie Scott of Oregon; 21 grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.W. Smith on Jan. 12, 2019; two sisters, Leatha Wolf and Rena Renfro; and three brothers, Rayburn, Ira and Alton Poindexter.
Pallbearers were her children.
