Funeral services for Roy Cleveland “R.C.” Cooper, 63, of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Muldrow.
Burial was at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Stilwell under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mr. Cooper was born on March 17, 1961, in Peavine to Lena Mae Cooper. He died on Sunday, June 23, 2024, in Fort Smith, Ark.
He was a carpenter and worked in maintenance. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and enjoyed music, dancing and being with his family.
He married Edith May Jennings on Jan. 15, 2012, at Park Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Cooper of the home; children, Lori and Adam Freeman of Muldrow, Ryan and Alice Cooper and Ramona Sweeney, all of Van Buren, Ark., Erica and Antonio Zizzo of Fairbanks, Alaska, Rae-Leigha McMurtry of Tahlequah and Dow Jennings of Sallisaw; one sister, Irene and Claudie Vaughn of Stilwell; one brother, G.C. and Crystal Cooper of Stilwell; 13 grandchildren; and father, Audie McMurtry of Stilwell.
He was preceded in death by his mother. Pallbearers were Ryan Cooper, Noah Cooper, Dean Marcou, Donald Ray, Ramona Sweeney, Claudie Vaughn and G.C. Cooper.
