A Muldrow man is charged with failure to register as a sex offender after failing to register with the Sequoyah County Sheriff ’s Office after reportedly moving from Arkansas two years earlier.
Charles Eubanks, 34, was charged April 30 and a felony warrant was issued for his arrest the same day, according to court records.
Sequoyah County Sheriff ’s deputy Randy Freeman reported on April 26 that he received a request for information on a possible sex offender (Eubanks) who was said to be living on 4750 Road in Muldrow.
Cherokee Marshal Steven Asbill told Freeman that Eubanks had been convicted of a sexual offense in Sebastian County in 2023, and was required to register as a sex offender in Arkansas. However, Asbill discovered Eubanks had allegedly been staying at a residence in Muldrow for the past two years, according to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case.
After going through files, Freeman was able to determine that Eubanks had never registered as a sex offender in Sequoyah County or the state of Oklahoma.
Freeman then requested a warrant be filed for Eubanks’s arrest.
If found guilty of the charge, Eubanks could face imprisonment for not more than five years and/or a fine not to exceed $5,000, or both.
