The town of Muldrow will observe National Day of Prayer at noon on May 2 at the Muldrow Town Park, and encourages members of the community to join in the town’s 31st year of observance.
Muldrow First Baptist Church pastor Mark Porter will serve as leaders of this year’s event. Special music will be provided by the Muldrow Elementary Bulldoggies, the high school Show Choir and the high school band.
Muldrow Mayor Catherine Jones signed a proclamation on Monday designating May 2 as the day to “Lift Up the Word, Light Up the World,” which is this year’s theme. Jones was joined for the signing by National Day of Prayer Committee members Sherry Fugett and Susan Kelton.
According to www.nationaldayofprayer.org, prayers will be led for the family, church, military, government, business and workplace, education, arts, media and entertainment.
The first observance in Muldrow began in 1993. If inclement weather occurs, the event will be moved to Eastside Freewill Baptist Church.
The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for 7 a.m. May 2 at Muldrow Assembly of God.
