Authorities arrest Sallisaw man in Muldrow
A Sallisaw man who led authorities on two pursuits and struck an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper unit is now in custody, according to Sequoyah County Sheriff Larry Lane.
Lane said multiple agencies teamed up to locate and arrest Ethan Branham, 31, in Muldrow.
Branham, who has outstanding warrants, reportedly eluded police near Bawcom Road after authorities attempted to stop him. During the pursuit, he crashed into an OHP unit and was able to get away.
Branham was later seen again by a Sheriff’s deputy and a second pursuit ensued, where he crashed the vehicle and then fled into the woods.
Lane said Branham was last seen between Bawcom Road and Redland road, near the railroad tracks.
“He’s now in custody,” Lane said. “A big thanks to our investigator, BR Rutherford, who always gets his man, for staying on his trail the last few days. And thank you to all our deputies, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Sallisaw, Roland and Muldrow police departments, District 27 DTF, and the Cherokee Nation Marshals service for all of your hard work and long hours.”
Branham has been charged in with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, endangering others while eluding/attempting to elude police officers, littering the highway, and operating vehicle with expired/improper tag/decal.
