For court clerk, county clerk, sheriff and commissioner seats
Statewide election activity will officially begin at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, when the candidate filing period opens, according to Sequoyah County Election Board Secretary Cindy Osborn.
Candidates for state offices will file with the secretary of the State Election Board, while candidates for county offices file with the secretary of the County Election Board.
Osborn said offices are expected to be filled this year for court clerk, county clerk, sheriff, and District 2 county commissioner.
Filing forms and information for county offices may be obtained by contacting the Sequoyah County Election Board at 918-775-2614 or sequoyahcounty@elections. ok.gov. Their office is located at 110 E. Creek Ave. and is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Filing packets for all offices are also available for download on the State Election Board’s website at oklahoma. gov/elections.
Osborn said the filing period closes at 5 p.m. Friday, April 5.
