STROUD — The 2023-24 basketball season came to an end for the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs as they lost 4234 to the Madill Lady Wildcats in Thursday night’s Class 4A Area Tournament consolation quarterfinals.
The Lady Bulldogs end the season at 17-10.
The Lady ’Cats virtually led from start to finish, taking an 8-6 lead after a quarter, which became a 17-8 halftime advantage and a 30-19 lead after three periods.
The Lady Bulldogs made a fourth-quarter rally as they outscored the Lady Wildcats 1612, but the rally came up short.
In defeat, Cailey Grinstead led Muldrow with a game-high 15 points, followed by Makynlee Morton and Claire Tabor with six points each, Katelynn Moore with four points, London Hardin with three points and Kennady Moore with a free throw.
The game was the final one for Muldrow’s seniors — Moore twins, Grinstead, Morton and Tabor — as the other senior, Kennedi “Kiki” Wight — was out due to recovery from knee surgery.
