Awarded annually to less than 700 applicants nationwide
Devan Holland of Roland received a letter on February 8 from the Office of the Commanding General of the Department of the Army, awarding him with a fouryear scholarship, along with stipend, to the University of Oklahoma.
This scholarship is reportedly valued over $200,000 and awarded annually to less than 700 applicants nationwide.
Holland plans to major in Pre-Med and will advance to OU Medical under a secondary Army scholarship.
He is ranked No. 2 for the 2024 Muldrow graduates and maintains over a 4.0 GPA, which will qualify him for a Distinguish High School Diploma.
Holland volunteers in the community and works part time at the Muldrow Pharmacy. He’s active in Beta club, Spanish club, Science club, is on the FCCLA advisory board, football team, and powerlifting team.
His love of the military developed after attending Boys State and being elected mayor, as well as Citizen of the Year. He has already been invited back as a counselor position for the upcoming year.
