WAXAHACHIE, TX — Junior Drew Miller scored eight of his game high 29 points in the final three mi n u t e s — including a pair of 3-point baskets — and sophomore Malachi Reeves converted 8-of-10 from the line as the sixth-seeded John Brown University Golden Eagles stole its second game of the season inside the Sheaffer Center, this time upending No. 25 Southwestern A.G. (Texas) 85-80 Thursday night in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinals.
The Golden Eagles, 16-12, were slated to play Mid-America Christian at 3 p.m. Monday at Sid Richardson Center in Fort Worth, Texas, in the SAC Tournament semifinals, with a win slating the JBU men for the tournament finals Tuesday afternoon.
Former Muldrow Bulldog Tyren Collins scored eight points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out an assist and had a steal.
