The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Christopher J. Knight, 42, of Spiro, pleaded guilty to felon in possession of a firearm.
The indictment alleged that on Dec. 26, 2022, Knight, having been convicted of a crime punishable by a term of imprisonment exceeding one year, and knowing of that conviction, possessed a 9mm semi-automatic pistol which had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office.
Knight will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending sentencing.
