CAMERON — It was heartbreak city for the Gans Grizzlies as a 15-foot buzzer-beating 3-point basket lifted the Crowder Demons to a 45-43 win over the Grizzlies on Thursday afternoon in the Class A regional Tournament consolation quarterfinals to end postseason run for the Gans boys.
The Grizzlies end the season at 11-13.
The Grizzlies, who trailed 27-26 at halftime, outscored the Demons 8-6 in the third quarter to take a 34-33 lead.
Gans had a 43-42 lead in the waning seconds of the game when a Crowder player hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to keep the season alive for the Demons — and end the basketball campaign for the Grizzlies.
In defeat, Mayson Clifton shared gamehigh honors with 14 points and Josh Brunk added 13 points to lead Gans, followed by Nakota White with five points, Clay Martin and Gunner Vanscoy with four points each and Ashton Langston with three points.
