Muldrow High School will welcome three new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday as the Bulldogs play host to Checotah at Roger Sharp Activity Center. This presentation will occur at halftime of the varsity girls game, which will tip-off at 6 p.m.
The 2024 inductees will be Payne Hall, Ron Rogers and Gary Treat.
Hall, a 2002 graduate of MHS, participated in basketball and football for the Bulldogs. After graduation, Hall attended Eastern Oklahoma State College on a basketball scholarship. He later transferred to the University of Arkansas to play football for one season before finishing his career at Missouri State University where he started at tight end for the Bears.
Rogers was the head football coach at Muldrow from 1982-87. In 1985, Rogers led the Bulldogs to the most successful football season in school history. His team won the district championship and regional championship, and made it to the state semifinal game. He was the Northern Oklahoma Athletic Association Coach of the Year in 1983 and 1985.
Treat, a 1986 graduate of MHS, was a standout football player for the Bulldogs. Treat attended the University of Tulsa on a football scholarship. He played four seasons with the Golden Hurricane as a linebacker and tight end. Treat was elected captain of the 1989 team that played in the Independence Bowl.
