AARP Foundation announces the opening of its free Tax-Aide site in Sallisaw, where they will be helping prepare individual income tax returns at First Christian Church, 706 North Wheeler, Sallisaw.
This service is primarily for seniors and low to moderate income taxpayers.
The site will be open on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. from Feb. 7 until April 12.
If you’d like to get your refund faster, they can electronically file your return for you. If you’d like them to help you, stop by the Stanley Tubbs Library and ask for a copy of the AARP’s tax documents, take them home and fill them out.
Then, bring them and a copy of last year’s return, Social Security cards, government issued picture ID, and all of the following forms that you receive: W-2, Social Security-1099, all other 1099’s, any dependent care provider information, receipts or cancelled checks if you want to itemize, IRS letters 6475 and 6419 concerning the Economic Impact Payments, and the Advanced Child Tax Credit as well as other tax related information you’ll need to file your return.
When you drop them off, they’ll go over them and make an appointment for you to return and retrieve your completed tax return.
If you’d like to leave a message, they can be reached at 918-774-4487.
