#RUN4RUBEN set for Feb. 3
Muldrow High School’s Student Council and Beta Club are teaming up for a 5K Fun Run/ Walk to benefit a fellow student who is battling liver cancer.
The two student organizations will host the event from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at Muldrow High School to raise money to help the family of Ruben Estrada with financial needs.
Ruben, 17, is a junior at Muldrow High School and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments at St. Jude Children’s Hospital and is in need of a liver transplant.
Online registration is required prior to the event and cost is $30 per person (includes an event T-shirt) or $25 per person (no T-shirt). To sign up, visit the 5K for Ruben link at #RUN4RUBEN.
The organizations are also selling event T-shirt for $15 each. T-shirts can be picked up at Muldrow High School or prior to the run at 7:30 a.m. at the check-in point.
Organizers said they want to remind participants that because this is a fundraiser, no awards will be given out; and all young children must be accompanied by an adult.
