The Kozie Quilters of Sequoyah County met on Jan. 3, to set goals for the New Year. Dedicated members are very happy to stitch together tops and complete quilts for individuals in the county.
Every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to noon the group sews, shares ideas, and turns in incredibly beautiful quilts. The quilts will be delivered as needed to elementary schools, county agencies, fire victims, and other people in the county.
During 2023, the Kozie Quilters donated 347 quilts to county individuals. Our goal is to exceed this number in 2024.
Kozie Quilters appreciate the donation of fabrics and supplies from individuals who no longer need their fabric stash. The donations provide the materials needed to make quilts. Donations can be dropped off at Trinity Methodist Church on Highway 64 between Roland and Muldrow or contact the president of the group.
The church provides space for the group to sew, store supplies, and have quilts ready for distribution.
The Kozie Quilters also welcome new members. Anyone who likes to quilt and/or wants to learn how to quilt, may join the group on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. at Trinity Methodist Church.
Please contact Linda Wight, president of the Kozie Quilter at 479719-5542 if you have questions, donations, or wish to become a member.
