Sen. Warren Hamilton, R-McCurtain, joined more than 1,000 elected officials across the nation in signing the Americans for Tax Reform Taxpayer Protection Pledge.

“For far too long, the American people have been overtaxed. Government expansion and reckless spending have only resulted in more taxes being imposed on hardworking citizens,” Hamilton said. “Inflation has only made matters worse by making it difficult for families and small businesses to purchase basic necessities. Tax reform is one way we can offer true relief to our citizens.”

Hamilton said he believes the upcoming legislative session will be an opportunity for lawmakers to focus on tax reform.

“I hope my colleagues will not only join me in this commitment to lowering taxes, but also prioritize these efforts when we return to the Capitol in few weeks,” Hamilton added.
