Early last Tuesday morning, firefighters with the Roland Fire Department were dispatched to a two-story residential fire on the east side of town. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the structure under heavy fire conditions. Fire Chief Daniel Richards said the brutally cold and snowy conditions made fire operations difficult, and the Red Cross was notified to assist the property owner. Richards said the department also wishes to thanks firefighters with the Muldrow and Liberty Fire Departments for their assistance.
