WAXAHACHIE, Texas — Former Muldrow Bulldog and John Brown University senior Tyren Collins scored a career-high 25 points to help the Golden Eagles subdue the Southwestern Assemblies of God Lions 86-77 in a comefrom- behind effort on Saturday afternoon at Shearer Center.
With 15:38 left in the game, the Golden Eagles (8-4 overall, 6-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play) trailed 67-53, but they started the comeback, thanks to Collins scoring 21 of his game-high 25 points as he hit eight of his final nine shots and three of his last four 3-point baskets to help spark a game-ending 29-10 run over the final 10 minutes of the contest. Part of that run was an 11-2 spurt that began once the Golden Eagles got the game tied at 75.
The Golden Eagles will next play at 7:45 p.m. Thursday against Southwest Christian at Bill George Arena in Siloam Springs, Ark.
