Sen. Warren Hamilton, R-McCurtain, received top marks from CPAC’s Center for Legislative Accountability for his conservative voting record in the 2023 session. Lawmakers recognized for Conservative Excellence voted conservative on at least 90% of bills, with Hamilton receiving a score of 95%.
“It is an honor to be recognized among Oklahoma’s top conservative lawmakers,” Hamilton said. “As elected officials we must ensure we are representing the people of Oklahoma, upholding their values, and defending their freedoms. I look forward to continuing our work in the upcoming session and carefully reviewing legislation on key issues such as taxation, Second Amendment rights, education and more.”
CPAC reviewed 19 pieces of legislation to determine the 2023 scores, including bills to prohibit foreign entities from purchasing Oklahoma land, eliminating gender transition surgeries for minors, and the Oklahoma Women’s Bill of Rights, among other measures widely supported by conservative lawmakers.
Of the 19 bills reviewed, five were co-authored by Hamilton.
