EMPORIA, Kan. — Former Muldrow Bulldog and Emporia State University Hornets quarterback Braden Gleason was one of two ESU football players named to the D2Football. com Elite 100 Team, which was announced Thursday, Gleason was 382for-517 in passing with 4,178 yards and 47 touchdowns and went 749-for-1,077 for 8,125 yards and 85 TDs for his career. Rushing, Gleason had 66 carries for 230 yards and four touchdowns and had 180 rushes for 690 yards for his career.
The Hornets went 9-3 overall this past season, which was capped by a 55-24 victory over Southern Nazarene in the Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl on Dec. 2 in Corsicana, Texas.
Gleasons teammate, wide receiver Tyler Kahmann, was the other Hornet selected to the team.
