Sequoyah County Assessor Brandy Dobbs announced that Personal Property Renditions were mailed out to Sequoyah County residents on Jan. 2.
Dobbs says if any renditions are not received by her office on or before March 15, a mandatory penalty will be added to the taxpayer’s personal property account.
“If the postmark on the envelope is on March 15, it will not be counted as late,” she says.
However, after March 15, Dobbs said a 10% penalty will be added. After April 15, the penalty will increase to 20%.
Dobbs also said the filing period for all exemptions will be from Jan. 1 to March 15. Income for all household members is required for Senior Valuation Freeze and Double Homestead Exemption. Senior Freeze income guideline is $65,700 for the 2024 tax year, and Double Homestead Exemption income guideline is $30,000.
The Visual Inspection Area for 2024 will be the Vian and Gore area.
“Please be kind to the deputies,” she says. “They are only doing their jobs.”
