The Sequoyah County Commissioners approved eight agenda items at their Monday weekly meeting on Dec. 11.
Those items earning approval were:
• Naming the previously unnamed bridge over Sallisaw View in District 3 as Carson Creek Bridge
• The holidays the county will observe for calendar year 2024, which is an annual agenda item
• The commissioners meeting dates for calendar year 2024, which is an annual agenda item
• Declaration of surplus for a 2017 Ford Explorer/Interceptor from the sheriff ’s office, which will be surplus to the Muldrow Police Department • Appointed the commissioners’ chairman as requisitioning agent for Cherokee Nation donated funds for the benefit of the 911 office
• Appointed 911 director David Slaughter as receiving agent for Cherokee Nation donated funds for the benefit of the 911 office
• Request from Roland Public Schools for gravel for a driveway at 108526 S. 4762 Road located in District 1 for a school bus turnaround
• Transfer of appropriations from one account to another within the sheriff ’s office, which corrects a previous transaction paid from one of the accounts The next meeting of the county commissioners is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at the Sequoyah County Courthouse Annex.
