First the bad news!
Remember the Garden of Eden and our relatives Adam and Eve lived until they deliberately disobeyed God’s Word, His command!
“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (Gen. 2:15-17).
The disobedience of Adam and Eve brought spiritual and physical death to the human race (Rom. 5:12).
Death is always separation… but, God will reconcile all who choose to accept His Son. For God so loved the world He sent His Son to be the payment for our sin. It began in eternity past and come to pass, beginning in Bethlehem! Praise the Lord God of all Creation!
Prophecy 740-701BC “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this” (Isa. 9:6-7).
Wow! Over seven hundred years before Bethlehem! God always brings to pass His Word! He said He would send His Son…He sent His Son! He said “that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:15-17). What God has said He will do! You must hear and accept His Son if you do not want to perish in Hell!
Prophecy Fulfilled
Approximately 4BC Salvation in Jesus is here! “And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:1-7).
We have a beautiful picture of God’s love for each of us, His grace and His mercy. This is a Season of Celebration for His Son Jesus Christ, so let us all take a good look at what God has done for us. If you are saved…Celebrate His love and how He has saved you!
If you are an unbeliever, take a look into the Manger this Season and know He loves you and will save you if you will believe in Him. Confess sin of rejecting Him, ask forgiveness and you can celebrate this Special Season.
Free Gift
“Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous (Rom. 5:18-19).
Christian, how will you celebrate this Season? Will it be with much joy of knowing Jesus? Will it be more commercial? Will your faith and love for Him be seen by others or will you hide it under a basket? Jesus deserves recognition in each life! Amen!
What a God we know and worship!
Celebrate Him! Praise Him! Worship Him!
